i. Land deeded by his father William Chapman. (d. 1848)
ii. Since 1807, the Chapman family were landowners.
iii. William Chapman drew Land Lot 111 during 1807 Land Lottery.
iv. 1830 John Chapman acquired Land Lot 112 & part of lot 85.
v. John Chapman married 4 times & had 9 children. (d. 1892)
vi. Last wife & children ran Hollywood Farms until 19o6.

The Wild Quail Hunts @ Hollywood Farms
There was a time when the glorious bobwhite quail could be found in large numbers across the Southeast. Over the past five decades, the overwhelming number of challenges they've faced has forced their populations to plummet dramatically.
At Hollywood Farms, we are continuously working the land responsibly to bring back this timeless game bird.
Georgia's plantation quail season opens October 1 and runs through the end of March. Hunts are guided by extremely safe and professional guides. These professionals with years of experience and professionally trained dogs ensure our guests the absolute best quail hunt possible.

The Dove Hunts @ Hollywood Farms
Our dove fields are welcoming only 10 shooters at a time. We have planted our fields strategically to maximize Georgia’s 3 dove hunting seasons. Remember, it will be fun to compare the size of the local birds in September to those migrating northern birds arriving in December and January.

What is offered:

This Wildrose Training event is a TSR: Train, Shoot Retrieve. The experience is designed to share the principles of developing an upland gundog to become a classic hunting companion: quail, dove, partridge, pheasant and picking up on continental shooting events. The course will emphasize delivery, steadiness, game recovery, handling, steady to the point/backing and quartering/flushing. Exercises will also include participants shooting in simulated hunting situations while working their gundogs (Transitional Training – “practice as we will play.”)

The weekend event concludes with actual quail hunts with handlers working their own dogs in the pursuit of the “king bird.”

Dogs
All dogs may stay the night in the house if they are in their kennels. During the day, they are welcomed in the house under supervision, leash or on the Wildrose mat. Dogs are NOT allowed on the furniture.. Hollywood Farms’ outdoor kennels would be available as well.
*Option for guests to stay for an additional evening may be available with prior notice.
